Maëlle Lucas

Maëlle Lucas is a geographer who earned her PhD from Université Rennes 2. Her doctoral research examined cycling practices and lived experiences in Bogotá, with a focus on everyday mobility through mobile and visual methodologies. Her work seeks to better understand socio-spatial and gender inequalities, as well as the power relations embedded in daily travel practices.

She has contributed to several collaborative research projects, including MODURAL (2020–2024), which explored everyday mobility practices in working-class suburbs of Bogotá and Lima, and VELOTACTIQUE (2021–2023), which investigated the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on cycling practices and cycling infrastructure.
