Müge Özbek is an Assistant Professor in the Core Program at Kadir Has University, Istanbul. Her research focuses on the history of the late Ottoman Empire, with particular interests in gender, labor, mobility, urban space, and urban life. She is currently leading a three-year research project (2023–2026), funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), which examines everyday mobilities in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Istanbul.
